Travel & Tourism - Tipping

Tipping in Spain

Spaniards are fairly relaxed about tipping etiquette. However service is not usually included in restaurants and it is customary to leave the spare change, or perhaps up to 10% of the total in a smarter restaurant or a large group.

Taxi drivers and bartenders may be tipped less, a few coins is sufficient in either case.

Most petrol stations are self service, in those that are attendant service it is not usual to tip the station attendant despite what is still says in many guide books.
